Portuguese, Dutch and English people also have included Sinharaja in their documents for various reasons such as collecting tax from villages who lived near the forest area, to spread their coffee and tea estates, researches which were done about animals and trees in Sinharaja etc…

  1. Simple Accommodaton, but a great experience...

It was a simple rest house that offered extraordinary hospitality and enthusiastic expert guides for a day walking safari in the Sinharaja Rainforest. Our accommodatio was arranged in a "peaceful chalet" a tuk tuk ride from the main premises in its own enclosure on top of a small hill. Our guide provided us with the transportation from the rest house to the forest gate and took us on two walks with a lot of birds, snakes, lizards and trees & plants. Both our guided walks were provided with refreshments & water, we did not feel exhausted at all. Thank you for everything.

Sri Lanka Day Tours arraged us a best guide and made our tour really educational and had an amazing ability to spot the snakes, monkeys, lizards, birds and giant squirrels at every twist in the forest trail. We have been on many jungle/rain forest tours but this was by far the best. Partly due to the guide and partly the fact that this area is literally crawling with the most amazing wildlife! Loved it and will be back! :)
