Starting at 6:30 a.m. in the morning, gives us a good start before the heat of the day sets in, in this dry zone area. One of the earliest capital cities, in ancient Lanka, Anuradhapura has numerous monuments, relics and remnants to explore.

Covering over 40sq kilometres, the kingdoms of this era created planned cities, complete with: royal palaces, temples, monasteries, gardens and even magnificent stone cut swimming pools.
