The Sri Lanka Day Tours crew and your designated guide will meet you at the gate entrance to the Kaudulla National Park.
The morning elephant safari will begin at 6.00 a.m. while the evening half-day tour will commence at 2.30 p.m.
On entering the national park with your guide, keep an eye out for the elephants who will gather to refresh themselves at the tank. Enjoy the moments of watching them frolic, interact and dominate the landscape with their formidable presence.
Different species of birds and other animals resident at the sanctuary will also make their appearance – not to be outdone by the gentle giants. The Sri Lanka Hanging Parrot, Sri Lanka Jungle Fowl, and the Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill are the endemic species amongst the other birds.
The elephant tour will also delight you with sightings of the Sambar Deer, Sloth Bear, the Grey Slender Loris, the Purple-Faced Langur along with several other mammals.
Saltwater crocodiles and reptiles like the monitor lizard, complement the diversity of the Kaudulla Park ecosystem.
The Kaudulla elephant safari should wrap up around 6 p.m., after which you will be dropped off at the park entrance.
